Qualifications for writers and reviewers

Three (3) years of classroom teaching experience – minimum.

A certified Florida Department of Education Dance, Music or Theatre educator.

Experience in curriculum writing at the local, district or state level.

Experience in assessment development at the local, district or state level
-
Membership in of one of these professional organizations (FATE, FDEO, FMEA) is preferred.

Knowledge of NGSSS in Dance, Music and Theatre.

Letter of support from your school principal or immediate supervisor.
Process

Complete the online application with your letter of support by the deadline.

Your application will be reviewed by the project Steering Task Force using the criteria below.

If recommended by the Task Force, you will receive an invitation to begin training through online modules.

Training must be completed by the deadline.

You will also be required to attend face-to-face training.
(The next round of applications for Writers and Reviewers will be determined by the FDOE.)
Successful applicants
Writers will:
-
complete a series of 15 modules at your convenience for an approximate time commitment of 10 hours, as well as attend the face-to-face training, and
-
write a minimum of 25 test items. You should expect to spend a about one hour per item. Please be prepared to submit a minimum of twenty-five (25) items. The review process determines acceptance of each item.
Reviewers will:

complete a series of 15 modules at your convenience for an approximate time commitment of 10 hours, as well as attend the face-to-face training, and
-
review the test items for validity, accept, reject or make revisions to the items. As a reviewer, it is suggested that you set aside time every day to stay current with this process.
Remuneration

Writers will be compensated $60 for each accepted test item. ($25 per submission, and an additional $35 upon acceptance by the Leadership Team)

Reviewers will be compensated with an annual stipend.
