I have had a student who has physical impairment. In my music class, I incorporate more hands on experiences, a lot of moving; therefore, I have student to pair up with another student to assist with the movements. This student is in a wheelchair a student will assist by pushing them around in the wheelchair. I have the student use their hands to show movements. Another strategy is using more visuals.

In my music class, all my students sing, and incorporate a lot of movement. I had a student who had cerebral palsy in wheel chair. I would modify and accommodate my lesson by having the student show movement with a scarf or hand. There are times when another student will assist moving them around in the wheelchair.

In the past, students who had learning disabilities with note reading. I would modify my lessons, by using color coded notes help the students to identify each note. In addition, I would modify my lesson by using hand on activities such as place their hands vertically next to each ear and their head will be the notehead; therefore, it is a line note. If you place one hand above your head and the other below the chin it is a space note.
