I have had a student in the past that had a behavioral disability. The student would throw tantrums when we attempted to draw a line. How i dealt with it was i calmed the student down then had them work at their own pace. When dealing with student that has a learning disability, you must give them what they need to succeed. The pitfall many teachers fall into is they believe that it would be unfair to give a student special treatment but its not about fairness. It is about giving the student what they need. |

The two methods i used was the graphic organizers to keep the student on task and the other was using group practices. By putting the child in a group, you use the social motivation to motivate the student to work. The graphic organizer provides them with small attainable goals and working in groups makes the assignment more student friendly by providing a social aspect to learning. |

Upon completing a test, i would have an interview with the student to tell them what they need to work on and what they are successful at doing during testing. After that i develop an IEP for each student and have my tutors provide them with the instruction that they need to succeed. |
