I give opportunities to a group of 25 4th and 5th grade students to participate in the school orff ensemble where we practice once a week after school. I noticed one student was having difficulty learning her part, so I created an easier version of each song for her play. Other students also helped her and she was able to play successfully in the concert. She was a student with Intellectual Disabilites. After the concert had ended, her mother expressed how happy she was to see her daughter play. The mother was very grateful that her daughter had the opportunity to play. |

In our school district all of the students have access to a digital course management system calld canvas. Canvas gives me the opportunity to have available all of the resources and materials that were used in the class that day as well as supporting materials that may help each student achieve different skills and levels at their own pace. |

Instead of having students answer a written test, quiz, or exam, as a way of an ongoing assesment, I have students do an assesment by playing the four corners game, where they have to go to the corner of the choice that they think that is correct. The choice of wherever the majority of the student are at, if it is incorrect I invite them to think critically and give them another chance to choose one of the other remaining choices. Students love being actively involved in choosing an answer. I learn what they know the best and what they need more help understanding. |
