I currently have a student with Downs Syndrome. He loves music but has a hard time reading an entire score. I have partnered him with another student, and we highlight his part. On songs that are particularly challenging, I give him a lyrics sheet so he can follow along and keep up with the ensemble. |

For my specific learning disabled students, I include rehearsal tracks on Google Classroom. They can access the tracks at any time, and can practice as often as they like. We also break into sectionals, and students can practice with their specific part, without distractions of hearing other parts at the same time. I often include the whole section in this strategy so the student doesn't feel singled out. |

I have a student with Down's syndrome who is also fluent in sign language. He has excelled at learning Curwen hand signs in our chorus class. On a listening test, instead of having him write his answers, he used the hand signs to indicate his answers and it worked beautifully. |
