- Think of a student with a disability you have now or in the past. Describe ways in which their disability affected their learning in your class.
- I have one class that is a combination of a 3rd grade unit and a self-contained 3rd grade class. They do the same lesson and are given the same instructions. I have patterns, alternative assignments, and tracers to help any student that needs a little extra support. Sometimes it is the students in both classes need extra support. I want all students to feel successful in art class.

- Describe how two of the strategies discussed could potentially be implemented in your classroom. Be sure to identify the two strategies by name and describe how they could be used to address the needs of a student with a disability.
- Computer assisted instruction is a big help in my classroom. I can video a lesson and a student who needs more time can go back and review or pause the lesson as they need to. I also use a lot of cooperative learning when talking about artwork. The students know the four steps they can help each other to work through them together.

Assessment of Learning

- Describe an example of adapted assessment you have successfully used in the fine arts classroom for students with disabilities. I have found that setting a specific goal with a student can help to increase their confidence in art. An example of this is a student who constantly ripped up his paper. The assessment for the day would be to keep the paper whole. After achieving this we can move towards the assesments that are in place for the rest of the class.
