Describe an example of adapted assessment you have successfully used in the fine arts classroom for students with disabilities.
I currently have a second grade student with an Orthopedic Impairment. He has a hard time holding smaller items such as a paintbrush. Because of this, I usually will give him either a larger handled brush and at other times a sponge that is attached to handle. He is unable to speak but the look on his face when he is painting with the rest of his class is pure happiness! |

Describe at least one way you have used technology to meet the needs of a student with a disability in your classroom. Be sure to identify or describe the specific technology and the student's disability. Share your response in the threaded discussion.
I have a student who has a language impairment disability. He often wants to participate in my class but is unable to use his own voice. He now uses a program on his IPad that allows him to answer questions, discuss art assignments and participate along with his peers. |

Describe an example of adapted assessment you have successfully used in the fine arts classroom for students with disabilities. In the past I have several students with language impairments. I will often times at the end of class aske students about what they learned for that day. I give students a true/false scenario and have them give me a thumbs up or thumbs down for the answer. This has helped those students to share their answer, while letting me know if they were grasping what we learned for the day. The student feels success and I know that they are participating and growing in my art room. |
