I have a student with Aspergers. I have used checklists to help her monitor her progress and to be sure she includes all the necessary steps to complete a project. I also use visual rubrics with all students. |

Students answer 5 questions to create an artist statement after each project/unit. Students have the option to type or speak these into Artsonia using an ipad. The question/answer format helps my students who have difficulty organinzing their thoughts and the ability to speak, rather than type, helps those with writing issues. |

I had an extremely talented art student who was on the autistic spectrum and struggled with time managemewnt. He would spend all the classtime on a sketch and rarely complete the final project. He and I came up with ways to streamline and limit his "sketching and brainstorming" and focus on the final producxt. Sometimes I elected to grade his sketch instead. |
