I currently have a student with autism, and he is very sensitive to sound. Since eliminating the sounds aren't an option, we use sound blocking headphones to drown some sound out. It works wonderfully!! |

I have used technology with the students who are in our ASD unit. Most of them are non-verbal, so I use a series of smartboard activities and a program called Incredibox to get them creating their own music and hearing all sorts of sounds. |

My first year teaching, I had a hearing impaired unit of children I taught. This was a big challenge for me since I teach music, but we adapted assessments through using feeling instead of hearing, and the interpreters to be my voice. |
