I do not currently teach, but have had several students in the past with ADD/ ADHD. Understanding that a typical school day is structured against students with this disability I try to incorporate as much movement into my activities as possible. Also encouraging the students to be my helps with disseminating papers and books alsways seems to help.

The two strategies that I used in my inclusion classroom that helped with my students with disabilities and students without disabilities were peer partners and Venn diagrams. The Venn diagrams helped the students visual see the relationships (similarities and differences) between concepts. The peer partners allowed students to bounce ideas off each other to come up with a solution.

I have had several SLD students that I have provided accommodations while testing. For example highlighting the directions, limiting the number of assessment items and providing additional time and support to accurately reflect what the students true ability is on an assessment.
