I recently used Flipgrid to record students' work. All of the students like it, but I found that it works especially well for my students with disabilities. The students still perform without the same anxiety and pressure that comes with an in-person performance. The plus side to using Flipgrid is that students can see each other's work and give feedback. |

My students with Down Syndrome were unable to write an exit card. I still wanted them to participate in this learning process, so I asked them to draw what they had learned that week. I loved seeing what they focused on from the weekly lessons. I did find that with some exceptional students, it worked out better for them to show me what they had learned. |

I find that peer grouping is a win-win in my classroom. Pairing a students with an intellectual disability or physical disability with a higher level student gives each person a boost in confidence and help in finding success. The more advanced student learns to break down the concepts while the disabled student gets one on one attention. The students really enjoy working together and having a change in the learning environment from full group and small group instruction. Peer teaching creates a fully engaged learning atmosphere. |
