I had a student who was Language Impaired and as a result he often felt uncomfortable with creative expression in front of his peers. Eventually with support, constructive feedback and positive reinforcement he gained strength in that area and developed into a more confident public speaker.

  • Two of the strategies discussed I could use with my students would be mneumonic instruction specifically for students with memory challenges or processing disorders because the letter/word connections can help prompt their memory. The other strategy would be a graphic organizer such as the Venn Diagram, This could be helpful for students with ADHD who tend to have difficulty with organizaiton.

Repeated reading has been helpful for my students who have speech impairments and hands-on activities has helped those who have challenges with memory.
