I currently have a student who is hard of hearing in beginning band and she is playing the Trumpet. I use solfege and direction of my hands up and down to help her match pitch. She has gotten very good at feeling where her buzz needs to be for the note she is looking at. At took some time but she has improved greatly! |

I had a student with a learning disability and would only focus with a screen in front of them. I utilized rhythm apps to help at the beginning of the year to teach rhythms and naming notes. When it came time to playing he used smart music on the iPad on his music stand and kept up using that instead of the book. |

I had a student with a learning disability who could not keep up with the other students. So when it was time to take a test I would give the other students an assignment and coach the student through the test so that they felt like he was doing it just with a little coaching from me. |
