I had a student who had a learning disability, but found out that she did much better when there were visuals. I used solfege hand signals, pictures, listening maps, music note cut outs that she could put in order for rhythms played, etc. I demonstrated all rhythms I wanted played on the instruments and she was able to play them back. |

I use technology to help improve the students reading of music. Music in a flash is a fun tool to use. The students can go as slow or fast as they like. I can make up my own rhythms and add them to the flash cards so it is using differentiated assignments. I can personalize it to every student if I wish. |

I had a student who had a difficult time in writing, so I would let him notate by using music note & rest manipulatives. He was able to use them well and felt good about being able to participate. I was able to see how he was learning our material. |
