My IVE class was full of students who had difficulty staying on task, so I created at least 3 projects for each time they were in class, to keep the pacing fast and interesting.

I really love the strategy of Conspicuous Routines, so that students create an automation of tasks to help students with processing issues. I also like the strategy of cubing, for older students with disabilities, so that they can make sure they are learning all aspects of an artist, artwork, or technique.

I have been able to primarily use self-assessments with students that struggle, and especially students that shut down when judged. I use a visual rubric for students to identify their formative assessment level, and guide them in where to go next.

I had a student with visual impairment of colorblindness, and I would give him one color at at time, label his paints and markers, and allow him to just use a monochromatic color scheme in various projects.
This allows him to complete all the tasks the other students do, while putting accommodations in place to make him feel successful.
