I currently have a student with severe arthritis. We have developed a plan for her to use her phone to record any lectures and to take photos of the presentations and notes provided in class. I also make sure to post the notes and links to presentations in the Google classroom for not only her, but any student who may have been absent. She can also use the talk to type feature on her phone when submitting any document or slides based work.

Technology: I have a student with Asperger's who does not like to present in front of the whole class. So we devised a plan for her to use her phone to record her presentation at home then submit to me for private grading through Google classroom. This way she still had to complete the research and presentation but did not have to stand in front of the class and feel uncomfortable. She also could do multiple "takes" in order to get it right.

Assessment of Learning

I have a few SLD students who would always get frustrated on written exams or quizzes. To adapt the assessment, I have these student complete the exam or quiz in a Google form. I allow the form to have multiple retakes and to show the missed answers. The student may then review what they missed and retake the quiz or exam as many times as they need to feel successful. Sometimes they will take it 4-5 times, which is OK by me because I'd rather they learn the content (which they will with multiple review and retest opportunities).
